Bra Fitting: It’s About More Than Just the Tape Measure

Why Do We Use a Tape Measure During a Bra Fitting?

One question we are often asked at Linnoco is why we use a tape measure during our bra fittings.

The simple answer is that it helps provide a starting point. A tape measure can give us useful information, but it is only one part of the bra fitting process.

Once a bra is on, that’s where experience becomes most important. We assess how the bra sits on the body, how it supports the bust, and most importantly, how comfortable it feels for the wearer. We look at factors such as band fit, cup fit, strap adjustment and overall support to ensure the bra is working as it should.

There are a variety of fitting methods used throughout the lingerie industry. Some fitters rely more heavily on measurements, while others prefer to fit primarily by eye. In our view, no single approach is right or wrong if it achieves the same outcome: a bra that is comfortable, supportive and fits properly.

At Linnoco, we combine measurements with years of fitting experience to find the best solution for each individual customer. Every body is different, every brand fits differently, and every customer has their own preferences when it comes to comfort and support.

The most important thing is not the method used, but the expertise behind it. That’s why we always encourage people to visit an independent lingerie specialist. Bra fitting is what we do day in and day out, and we are passionate about helping our customers find bras that make them feel comfortable, confident and well supported.

A great bra fit isn’t about numbers alone—it’s about finding what works best for you.
